I’m Tasmin

Hi, I’m Tasmin — an equine photographer now based in Taranaki, New Zealand. I spent years building my business in Auckland before recently making the move after getting married (best reason for a relocation, really!).

My journey started the classic way — camera in hand at local competitions, photographing riders doing what they love and offering those images for sale afterwards. From there, things grew organically. I began covering more clinics and competitions, working more closely with clients, and slowly but surely discovered just how much I adore portrait sessions — the quiet moments, the personality, the connection between horse and rider that you can’t always see in the middle of a round.

I’m completely self-taught, fuelled by a love of horses and a stubborn determination to get "the" shot. Horses aren’t just my subject — they’re my everyday life. I have four of my own, and I ride and compete whenever I can squeeze it in around my “real job” as a primary school teacher. Safe to say I don’t do quiet hobbies!

Because I’m a rider myself, I understand the details — the way you want your horse’s ears pricked, your position looking just right, the pride in a well-earned ribbon, or the softness of a moment at home in the paddock. That lived experience shapes how I photograph and how I work with clients.

Whether it’s a competition round, a clinic, or a portrait session celebrating your partnership, my goal is simple: create images that feel authentic, beautiful, and completely *you*.

If horses aren’t your thing, I’d love to capture your pets, you and your partner, or your precious family. I also offer commercial work—get in touch to chat about your needs!

I can’t wait to work with you!
